Martin O’Neill is a UK-based graphic designer and illustrator who creates deliciously grungy, mashed-up artwork using the old school traditional method of ’scissors and glue’ to splice retro and classic images from film, TV and various publications to into something fresh and new. He also makes use of photocopying, silk-screening, photography, paint and transfers to create his fabulous work.
Martin has a studio in Hastings converted from an old shop, the window of which now serves as an informal gallery space to showcase his pieces alongside a myriad of unusual objects that he has accumulated during his hunt for new material from various sources, including car boot sales, second hand book shops and house clearances.
His designs and illustrations have been used by a long and varied list of international clients including Converse, BMW, UNICEF and MTV, as well as having appeared on multiple occasions in many publications, such as The Guardian newspaper, Sainsbury’s Magazine and Readers Digest.
